It can be challenging emotionally as well as intellectually. Moreover, much of the course work is done in pairs or as group discussion. Your ability to participate in a helpful way as therapist or client, or as a member of a group discussion, is paramount \u2013 as this will strongly impact not only your experience but also the experience of others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left has-white-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\">Above all we wish to create a caring, supportive and engaging learning environment. You may want to read the Classroom Agreements before proceeding.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-brand-tint-20-background-color has-background\"><strong>Admissions Policy<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Purpose and Scope<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This policy sets out the principles and processes governing admission to Hypno-CBT\u00ae College training programmes. Its purpose is to ensure that admissions are conducted in a fair, transparent and professional manner, consistent with the College&#8217;s values of care, authenticity, transparency and professionalism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The policy applies to all applicants and to all staff involved in recruitment, admissions, and interview\/selection processes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>College Values and Admissions Principles<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The College seeks to attract and admit students who:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Are motivated by a genuine desire to learn and to help others,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Demonstrate openness, eagerness to learn, and reflective capacity,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Can give and receive constructive feedback with a growth mindset,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Are able to participate in group and partner-based learning in a respectful, professional manner.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Admissions decisions will be guided by the following principles:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Fairness and consistency; all applicants are assessed against published criteria.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Transparency; clear communication of requirements, processes and outcomes.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Inclusion; reasonable adjustments are made to support applicants with disabilities or additional needs.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Safeguarding and professionalism; ensuring suitability to train for roles involving therapeutic practice.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-brand-tint-20-background-color has-background\"><strong>Eligibility Criteria<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To be considered for admission, applicants must:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Be 18 years of age or older at the start of the course.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Have sufficient fluency in spoken and written English to participate fully in training (including group work, role-play and assessments). Where English is not the applicant&#8217;s first language, evidence may be requested.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Be capable of studying at a level equivalent to first-year undergraduate (Level 5) as a minimum. Formal qualifications are not required for entry to the Hypno-CBT Diploma programme, though higher levels of study may require additional qualifications or experience.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Demonstrate suitable mental health and wellbeing to engage safely in intensive personal and academic learning. Applicants with ongoing health conditions may be asked to provide supporting evidence and\/or agree to a support plan.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Have no criminal convictions, cautions, or professional sanctions that would reasonably call into question their suitability to train as a therapist.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Show motivation, reflective ability, and interpersonal readiness to participate constructively in group and partner learning activities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Application Process<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Applications are submitted via the College&#8217;s online form.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Applicants must provide accurate personal details, relevant educational and professional background, and disclose any information relevant to fitness to train.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>All applications are reviewed by an Admissions Tutor or designated member of staff.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-brand-tint-20-background-color has-background\"><strong>Important Note on Payment<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Payment of a course fee (whether deposit or in full) does not constitute automatic acceptance onto the programme. All applications are subject to review against the published eligibility criteria, and, where required, an interview and fitness-to-train assessment. If an applicant is not accepted, any fees paid will be refunded in accordance with the College&#8217;s Refund Policy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Selection Process<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Approximately 30% of applicants will be invited for interview; however, the College reserves the right to interview any applicant.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Interviews may be conducted by telephone, video call, or in person.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Interviews assess motivation, reflective ability, interpersonal skills, group readiness, communication skills, and alignment with the College&#8217;s values.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Interviewers complete a structured scoring form to support consistency.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-brand-tint-20-background-color has-background\"><strong>Fitness-to-Train<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Where concerns are raised regarding a trainee&#8217;s conduct, wellbeing, or ability to participate, the Fitness-to-Train Procedure will be followed. Outcomes may include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>continuation with or without conditions;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>deferral of training; or<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>withdrawal from the course.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Attendance on each stage of the course and receiving the Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy is at the discretion of the College.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Acceptance on to the Stage 1 course is at the discretion of the College, and on-going course attendance onto each day of the course and further acceptance onto Stages 1 and 2 is also at the College&#8217;s discretion. Trainees who are not able to engage in partner work, are fractious or cause dissension in the group may be asked to leave the course at any given time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Attendance in the entire course also does not imply that you are eligible to continue with the written assessment to gain the qualification and become a registered hypnotherapist. If the College does not feel you are suitably ready to become a therapist you will be encouraged to proceed with further self-development or training before completing the written assessment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-brand-tint-20-background-color has-background\"><strong>Reasonable Adjustments and Equality of Opportunity<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The College is committed to equality, diversity and inclusion. Applicants with disabilities, learning differences or health conditions are encouraged to disclose their needs so that reasonable adjustments can be discussed and, where possible, implemented.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-brand-tint-20-background-color has-background\"><strong>Confidentiality and Data Protection<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">All personal information provided during application is treated confidentially and in compliance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Sensitive data such as health or criminal record information will only be shared with staff directly involved in admissions and safeguarding decisions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-brand-tint-20-background-color has-background\"><strong>Communication of Decisions<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Applicants will be informed of admissions decisions in writing, normally within 4 weeks of application or interview. Decisions will be:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Unconditional offer of a place;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Conditional offer (subject to evidence or requirements);<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Offer of deferral; or<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Rejection, with reasons provided.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-brand-tint-20-background-color has-background\"><strong>Deferrals<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Applicants may request to defer entry for up to 6 months, subject to approval. Deferrals are normally granted for health, personal, or professional reasons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-brand-tint-20-background-color has-background\"><strong>Appeals<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Applicants who are refused admission, deferred, or withdrawn for fitness-to-train reasons may appeal in writing. Appeals are considered on the grounds of:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>New evidence not previously available;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Procedural irregularity;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A decision that was unreasonable in light of the evidence.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Appeals Procedure sets out timelines and review processes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-brand-tint-20-background-color has-background\"><strong>Monitoring and Review<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Admissions processes and outcomes are monitored annually by the Academic Board. This includes review of diversity data, fairness of decision-making, and applicant feedback.
