CONFIDENCE AND INTEGRITY
The right introduction starts with clear boundaries.
- Referrals must be new to the College’s prospect database and meet the programme’s eligibility rules.
- You cannot earn commission by referring your own current or former therapy clients.
- Be open about your affiliate relationship and use accurate, approved information.
- Give people space to decide. An introduction never guarantees admission, qualification or future earnings.
Read the full programme terms before applying. If you are unsure whether an introduction qualifies, ask us before making a paid referral. Read Appendix A on ethical boundaries →

Commission is payable on qualifying payments received by the College. Payments are subject to eligibility checks and the applicable refund hold. Before you begin referring, we confirm your payment method, payout timetable and any minimum payout in your programme terms.
No. Referrals of your own current or former therapy clients are excluded from commission. A client using a link in a public post does not remove this boundary. You may make appropriate unpaid recommendations, while keeping the person’s educational decision separate from therapy. Ask the College about any uncertain relationship before making a referral.
The person must be new to our prospect database when you introduce them, your referral must be attributable to you, and they must enrol and make a qualifying payment. Existing College leads and your own course purchases do not qualify. The programme terms explain the referral window, exclusions and how competing claims are handled.
there. If an introduction appears to be missing, contact the team promptly so we can review the referral and payment records. Please do not send therapy notes or clinical information.
APPENDIX A
Ethical boundaries for referrals
Helpful recommendations should support an independent decision. Therapy must never become a sales conversation.
Read the therapist referral guidelines
Current and former clients. No commission, gifts, fee credits or other referral rewards are available for referring your own current or former therapy clients. This includes indirect rewards or a client using your public affiliate link. Appropriate unpaid signposting remains possible; ending therapy does not make a referral commissionable.
Freedom to decide. Do not imply that training is necessary for recovery, proof of progress or a guaranteed source of income. Explain any teaching, coaching or other connection with the College. Give people time to compare options and consider the financial commitment.
Confidentiality and admissions. Let people approach admissions themselves. Do not share therapy records or client lists. Any requested introduction should use only the minimum agreed contact information. The College assesses admission independently.
Other relationships. Ask us before accepting a paid referral involving a supervisee, trainee or someone whose assessment you control. Follow your own professional body’s requirements as well as the programme rules.
Public promotion. Clearly identify affiliate advertising, use accurate approved information and avoid pressure. Do not use therapy client lists for affiliate marketing.
Bursaries. Bursary applications are assessed separately. Redirecting a prohibited commission into a donation or bursary does not make the referral eligible.
These are College programme safeguards. They reflect professional principles of client welfare, boundaries and avoiding exploitation; they are not a claim that every professional code contains the same blanket rule.
