Hypno-CBT® Directory
Common Issues

Many of the problems people bring to a Hypno-CBT® therapist share a common thread: the way thoughts, emotions and behaviour keep a problem going. These six pages describe the main areas in plain language, so you can see whether your own experience is covered before you look for a therapist.
Anxiety & stress
General anxiety and stress, panic attacks, and specific fears such as flying, heights or needles.
Mood, self-perception & emotional issues
Low mood, anger, jealousy, heartbreak and relationship difficulties, and the emotional effects of life changes such as menopause.
Confidence & self-esteem
Social anxiety, low self-esteem, fear of judgement, difficulty being assertive, confidence at work and imposter syndrome.
Habits & addictions
Habits and compulsive behaviours you would like to get a better handle on, including drinking, gambling and body-focused repetitive behaviours such as hair-pulling and skin-picking.
Sleep problems
Difficulty falling asleep, staying asleep or getting good-quality sleep, and the tiredness that follows.
Pain management
Persistent pain, and the worry, tiredness and avoidance that come with it, including back pain, headaches, jaw pain, IBS and discomfort during medical or dental treatment.
If your concern isn’t listed
These pages are not a complete list. Every therapist in the directory offers a free initial consultation, so you can talk through what you’re experiencing before committing to anything.
Speak to your doctor first
Hypno-CBT® is not a medical treatment, and therapists listed here work alongside your GP, not instead of them. If your symptoms are new, changing or haven’t been checked, please speak to your GP first. If you need urgent help, contact your GP or NHS 111, or call 999 in an emergency.
